Testimonies from the ODA:
I was aware of the Special Forces Association from the end of the Q course but I had not joined nor knew of any of their activities in the 7th Group area. In the course of planning a memorial event for my Detachment, funding became an issue. My Team Sergeant and I attempted to contact many of the charitable organizations that service Green Berets. We did not receive responses back from many and were told no from others. Fully expecting to have to foot the bill from team funds, the local SFA chapter stepped up and offered to cover all the necessary expenses to get our team and their families to participate in this event. Without their support and assistance we would not have been able to provide the support needed for everyone to attend this memorial event. Chapter VII of the SFA will be able to count me amongst their members very soon!

The Special Forces Association is an organization I have heard of, but, wrongly assumed I could only utilize their support once I retired.
A different organization failed to provide my Detachment financial support at the 11th hour for Honor and Remember's Run for the Fallen. The SFA Chapter VII, stepped up, without hesitation, to ensure the event could continue as planned. The event was intended for current members of the Detachment to not only honor our fallen brothers of ODA 7235/765, but to meet and support the families left behind.
Thank you to the leadership of the SFA Chapter VII for making this happen. You have gained a new life time member.

- SFA responded quickly and supported my family so that we could participate in the Run For the Fallen. SFA will be the first organization that I will contact for future support and I will recommend SFA to anyone one in my organization.

- The SFA helped our ODA out on short notice, when other organizations wouldn’t. Also, they reimbursed the money quickly and without any issues. I was very impressed with the services provided.
